Welcome aboard FishStrong.  Imagine that same picture with a much bigger striper, halibut, white sea bass, ling cod, salmon, and more.  That's what I see in my crystal ball. :smt004

WTTM!!  Congrats on getting the first....it's only just begun. That marina USED TO BE a real marina, when there USED TO BE, alot more fish around there. I can't believe they charge $ to launch a kayak. You can make a left after crossing that RR bridge, drive down close to the water(wheels needed) unload your stuff, and either park drive back to the marina parking or park off to the side(up near the bridge) The local pinoys fish from shore there alot, and the Tweekers that USED TO live there got their house demolished, so it should be safe durring the day.

Rodeo is a cool spot to launch, im sure there are Hali there! I'm down to try it out there for Hali, if some folks wanna get together sometime,
i have never heard of (that does not mean they dont get up this far) of Halibut this far north in the bay. It's so close to the Carquinez / Vallejo bridge that the (somewhat)freshwater coming down steam keep them away. Richmond /San Rafael bridge area is the furthest i've ever heard of.

That is exit Willow Ave of off 80,,,,,turn left and it turns into Parker Ave......all the way to the last Liquor/half-ass-bait-shop and make a left,,,,til you see an overcrossing/small Rail Road Bridge. Marina to the right and the hidden park to the left. = tweekers house gone! :smt002

Fishunter, I've launched off that beach to practice launching but I didn't feel comfortable with my truck sitting there with the environment... I'm familiar with the area and heard some stories. I felt a lil better withmy truck on private property and knowing the gentlemen that owns the "marina".

I'm not quite sure if hali runs that far up but I wouldn't be surprised if the conditions were right...

fs151~ i do agree on the shadyness of the area.
back in the day, when i was a boater, we'd pay the marina owner(i forgot his name) to launch durring the fall striper run. I even once float tubed it for a skunking.
Duane the boat repair guy is way cool too....he let me launch from his dock/small area before, but when the tide dropped, we had about 3in. of water to return on... the marina was drainning fast.

Cool that's it! And yea it kinda feels sketch out there. Took my mom out there an early morning and some tweekers were out there. If it wasn't so sketchy I'd be going there more and it has a nice little beach to launch from, but yea like the others said I wouldn't feel comfortable launching my yak and leaving my car there. I've been by the Marina on the right though and that's a cool spot, saw a couple peackocks that I think live there?
