If you have not checked these out they are awsome.They are cheap simple and work great I use one for a quick release on my anchor trolley and to tie down my yak in the truck no knot no threading a long rope thru a hole simple cheap and easy try them out :smt001

I bought two of those at Harbor Freight a few weeks ago. Had the same idea about using them for a quick release.

I got mine at lowes for 5 bucks the only down fall is they are only rated for 150lbs not a biggie for me.They work with 1/8-3/8 rope.I tied down a sectional couch with me today  :smt001 So handy

Here is how it can be used as a pulley system in the middle of a rope if need be

I got a 4 pack with small line at REI i think 10 buck or close. pretty strong and ingenious design
