I hope to hit beals this evening, my truck is in the shop, dam A/C compressor seized, it's hard to drive in sac without ac this time of year and I don't have the skill for that kind of fix. Should be done today though.

I've been catching tons of small bass in the area, I'm sure there's bigger ones but gotta work for them. I'll probably hang some minnows a bit deeper than where I've been catching the babies, hopefully that's the ticket.

Company always welcome!!

Aw. Getting into town too late, otherwise I'd be there.  Is Beals Point pretty consistent?  I will be at Beeks Bight Saturday.

About a month and a half ago it was consistent for a good two weeks on big spots with smallies and trout mixed in.

Right now there seems to be a pattern, for every 15-20 fish I get in the 10-15", I'll get one over 18", nothin huge yet though. The small ones are very aggressive though and tend to put up a good fight for their size. So I wouldn't call 2 good fish a trip consistent but enough to get out there.

You may want to call granite bay sra to check if Beeks is open. I tried launching there on Monday and they had the whole northern end closed for construction. Wouldn't doubt they'd have it open on the weekend but just a heads up. Beals is only a couple minutes down the road so is a good 2nd option.

Thanks for the heads up.

How are you catching them? Wacky rigged senkos like the most of people on Folsom?

I have before but only on certain occasions, rarely even use soft plastics there.

Crankbaits, jerkbaits, and skirted jigs are my go to's. Bait wise minnows, crawdads, and polliwogs which you can catch in the coves right now, and of course the legendary night crawler.
