Hey guys,
My bro left his go pro with me since he's gonna be going on deployment for 8 months.
How do you guys mount the go pro on your yak? He has some of the adhesive mounts but I don'w know how those suckers will hold up once they get wet? Don't want it falling off and losing it!
Any tips would be appreciated!
Thanks,

GS

I'd also leash it if possible.

The adhesive mounts are super sticky and hold up pretty well. I'd also leash the Gopro....

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Might even consider a little surface preparation of cleaning with rubbing alc and allowing the surface to dry before application.  Not sure if a light scuffing will be required.  Maybe someone with a little more application experience can chime in.  I do know that the 3M adhesive used is some tough stuff.

I originally used just the sticky adhesive mount but if failed immediately due to the porous nature of the surface of the kayak.  Since I gooped the mount, it has stayed firmly in place.  I too tethered the camera to a padeye just for safety.

I usually have mine on a extendable pole.  The pole fits nicely into any rod holder and it allows me to take shots from many different angles.  On the pole, I use a pool noodle which keeps the pole and camera afloat, and it also works well to take the play the pole has in the rod holder out.

Thanks for the replys guys!
I was able to find a kit for surfboards so I'll try that as well as tie it to the yak just in case.
Where do you guys usually mount it? I was thinking of mounting it right infront of me so the cam can see me fishing?
Once again. Thanks for the help!
