So I was at Hi's tackle yesterday and the owner was telling me about Red Rock and the success he has had with halibut and stripers fishing the sides of the island that the tides are going into.

Has anyone fished Red Rock?  If so, where did you leave from.  The paddle from Marin looks pretty long.  The paddle from Richmond looks more manageable, but where do you leave from?

Is Red Rock worthwhile?

Not sure if there's a closer location but you could put in at the ferry point pier area.

the current RIPS though there like a freight train....i see a small window of opp. but only durring a mild tide(like 3ft of movment or less) there is an exit right before the toll booths at the foot of SanRaf/Rich' bridge, but you have to be on the eastside heading west to use it. Point Molate is the closet one can get to that island. There are alot of old pier pilings and shore structure that should hold baitfish, so there should be flatfish there too.

USE CAUTION....i dont think anyone has attempted that that I know of.
