No fish, but I got a good work out.
Launched out at around 9 am.  It was windy already .  I paddled about a mile straight out from the pier, caught a few large size smelts.  I used one for bait anyway.  Wind got stronger and the boat was drifting quite fast.  I decided to head back and trolled the bait behind.  No bites, and it seemed like taking forever to paddle back.  Two other kayak fishermen were also heading in.  They  didn't catch anything either.  They told me they had one good hit but couldn't hook it.  After a break, they went out again at about 11am.  I watched them from the pier and they were paddling very hard battling against the wind for another hour.  They finally came back in at noon.  Nice try but no fish.
