One of my daughters is a Berkeley student and made a trek down to Berkeley Marina with her boyfriend and told me about it.   Now all of a sudden I'm interested in dragging my little hobie up there to check it out next time I visit her.   Anyone here fish that area regularly?  I read that there is a bait receiver, cost $15 to launch a boat. -- Curious in LA.   :smt006

I would jump on party boat and let the crew put you on the fish. Lots of choices: Salmon, RF and Ling trips or Bay Potluck.  Kayak fishing there is very limited and it can get super windy.

I used to fish it a lot. There is good butt action along the pier, just gotta watch the guys on top. Also to the north, there are some flats, west of the breakwalls. good fishing there. and at the mouth of the marina, drift a high low with pile worm for lots of perch.

Hi Yakers:
You may park for Free and Launch at the Univ Docks.
Last time I went I was treated to a Free Sailboat ride. :smt002
Head NW and fish the Pier. It's a little longer than parking at
the Boat ramp but, it's Free and the University has fresh water.

Thanks all -- this is really cool.  I will have to scout this location and check it out. --   Will put out a shout on hookups when I know I will be there.

it is usually VERY WINDY there. it's location is directly across from the G.G.Bridge. it can be done on days that the wind is predicted no more than 5-10mph...and that is only a handfull of days. wind coming from any direction just whitecaps the whole place...and like clockwork, the BigFan starts at high noon. you may get lucky and get one of those rare days when it's doable.
