Cool man. Now take the yak out and fall off and get back on a bunch of times. Get that quick release anchor system going then you will be ready to roll!

you should go to ARW on Sunday and meet some of the people there, I went last year and I am so glad I did, lots of great people willing and having a good time giving advise.
Maybe you'll catch a halibut, striper or leopard shark.

I need to read up on ARW haven't been keeping up with that. I do not have a wet suit and a radio. Is it still ok for me to go? I do have waders and a pfd, if that make a difference.

I think you should be fine with that, you don't have to go far to fish and after the fishing is over meet the group.
I went last year without a radio and on my way home I stopped by at west marine to buy one.
Besides the safety factor you want to know what is going on around you, I recommend you get one and look around you can find a used wetsuit for a deal, post in the classified under wtb used wetsuit you will get a lot of replies.

ps
what size wetsuit do you wear?
