Hello, My GF and I just bought two Revolutions and we are hauling them to the old school house in FB. My Dad has lived there for 70 years.  We want to do Big River and the Noyo and I was wondering if it is worth it to do some fishing.  Is there anything fun to catch besides the trout/salmon most of the posts talk about?  By the way, Dad reports local Ling fishing is wide open now. His friends are doing well shallow with lots of big fish.

We live in Sonora and will be looking for Kayaking friends.

Hi Eric.

Be carefull at Big River. The Currents are strong West of the Bridge.
Yakers have died in the Surf Zone. VanDamme is Safer, Casper is HOT.
Noyo beach might be fun as long as you head North/West and have the Wind
at you back on your Return. Up Noyo River by the Dock is OK but, you'll
pass thru the Commerical Docks where the StinkPoters are. Your
Yak will end up with a smell! :smt044
Watch out for the Sneakers Waves and Boilers Rocks.

Thanks guys!  I have been on the Big River but only East of the bridge.  I have been fishing the ocean there for years but not in a Yak.  I started fishing about 45 years ago, when I was 9 years old, off the rocks below Belinda Pt.

Had a great trip.  Ended up comming west, on Big River, against a howling wind and incoming tide! Gota love these Mirage drives. My GF was pooped but my 100 mile bicycle legs got us back to the car.  We did Noyo too. I saw baitfish jumping but couldn't tell what was after them, anyone know?

Did well on abalone, seems I have a knack for this sport. I have been a warm water free diver a while. The wet suit and weight belt makes things a bit different!  Saw lots of nice fish while diving. I should bring a spear gun next time!

Next trip, Tahoe!
