SAN PABLO RESERVOIR FISH REPORT
May 28,2012
BOAT LAUNCH OPEN 7 DAY’S A WEEK AND INSPECTOR ON SITE
The San Pablo Reservoir  hours are 6:00am to 7:30pm with all boaters needing to be off the water by 6:30pm.The Boat Launch area is open 7 days a week  and snacks and drinks are available aswell as bait and tackle. Our last Trout plant of 1200 lbs. was performed on Thursday  May  24,2012 and the Department of Fish and Game planted 2,000 lbs. of Trout that day aswell .The Trout bite has been doing well and there have been some nice looking Trout  caught this week. The water temperature is about  69 degrees. People  trolling are still having the most  luck using Rapalas like the broken back Fire Tiger and Rainbow runners going down about 12 to 20 ft in front of Scow Canyon and down the middle of the Reservoir. Berkley Power bait colors such as Rainbow,Chartreuse, Garlic  and Corn Yellow aswell as Spring Green remain the top choice of bait aswell as the Berkley Mice Tails while also using the Power bait Trout Dip in Garlic or Roe scents.PowerEggs and  Night Crawlers have also been working well.Crappie and Bluegill are starting to make an appearance aswell with people using  bright colored Jigs.
TROUT
Claudio Figueroa of Martinez caught a 6lb. Trout using PowerBait at the Main Recreation Area on 5-21-2012
Phil of Pinole caught 3 Trout with the largest weighing 4.5lbs. using Sunrise & White PowerEggs and Trout scent at the Main Recreation Area near Gazebo #2 on 5-22-2012
Rocky Mountain Recreation Employee Randy Reese of El Sobrante caught 2 Trout using Corn Yellow PowerBait and Night crawlers at Sandy Point on 5-24-2012
Katrina of Oakland caught a Trout weighing 2lbs. using Nightcrawlers in Scow Canyon on 5-27-2012
Liana Kruger-Moore of Oakland caught a 1lb. Trout using Nightcrawlers at Sandy Point on 5-27-2012
Catfish
Raymond Chatman of Richmond caught a 13lb. 8oz. Catfish using Night Crawlers at the Boat Launch Area on 5-14-2012
Bass
Daniel G. of San Jose caught a 9.5lb. Bass using Nightcrawlers in Scow Canyon on 5-27-2012
