Mendo Bendo Info???

Anybody have any 411 on the stripers at Lake Mendo?  Is there any population left at this point, or is it not worth the effort?

From what I hear = slim to none.

Damn man... that is a serious bummer.  That was one of my absolute favorite passtimes this time of year... the weather gets warm, and it was time for a Mendo night stealth mission.  I'm thinking of making a run at it tomorrow night.  Not much of a moon though... bad conditions combined with low numbers = sad face.

I think you should still give it a shot. There has to be some left in there, just not anywhere near as many as there used to be.

I'd fish it more, but I'm a minnow dragger and there's nowhere to get minnows there anymore.

Yeah, bait shop is long gone.  I have always had success there dragging the biggest damn stick baits I can find.  7" rapalas on the like.  I have to imagine the average size of the fish remaining in the lake has to be getting up there!

Definitely. If there's any big stripers in there they gotta be stuffing themselves with planted trout by now!

Man, what a bummer about Mendo. I remember reading all your guys reports back when I was a non-yak-having-lurker.  Lots of bad ass Stripers taken out of there by you guys. Oh well.

Yesterday I saw that the Calpella Express (at the north end if the lake, exit JSO Hwy 20) market has a banner up claiming Live Minnows. Some investigation on that in the next day or so.
