Remember PLEASE that the rivers and lakes are still COLD AND CURRENTS CAN"T ALWAYS BE SEEN! EVEN IN LAKES.... Wear a life jacket... Wear a life jacket... Wear a life jacket... Wear a life jacket... Did I say Wear a life jacket... No more sad stories please. The American river can/will kill you (Lake Natoma too) Lakes are currently rolling over (Warm and cold water switching places) Sudden pockets of cold water can cause gasp reflex drownings when you were "just in warm water!!!"
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Most of these deaths are avoidable.  Reminds of the folks in Yosemite who went over the falls, very avoidable!

It's always a shame when someone with a future makes that one mistake that ends in tragedy.  Years back I lost an acquaintance who had just graduated from high school and drowned while fishing.  I hope that we can do our part and try to set an example not only with water safety but with the other dangers associated with the up coming graduation season...

Sad reminder indeed!  :smt010 ...thoughts and prayers to the family and friends.
