Weather's looking fine. Can anyone recommend an awesome place to launch for one of two things:
1)Stripers on the rivers/delta?
2)Ocean ... protected launch north of the bay area for RF/Ling/Buts?
We've explored all the local spots on the bay and love them, but want to try some new water. Any suggestions appreciated!

When you say North of the bay...only thing I comes to my mind is the "Fort" Fort Ross....incredible Fishing :smt044 :smt044 :smt044  If you want protected Albion Rules, bit of a haul for ya but well worth the journey!!!

If you want a good shot at stripers and you have 10 MPH winds or less predicted I recommend launching at Big Break marina or Lauritzens in Oakley/Antioch and paddling over to Sherman Lake. THere have been salmon smolt released in the area and the stripers can be had. Cool padle as well. Largemouth can be easily caught in the little backwaters in Sherman. Lots of birds and critters.

Just remember that Rockfish season doesn't open in this are until June 1st. So anything around the bay is a no go until then.

Ppickerel - Thanks for the tip. Did a very short paddle around Big Break, just out to the river and around inside the pond. Super nice spot. Will do a paddle over to Sherman some other time. Cheers!
