There is a way to get a good deal for a Standard Horizon HX280S Handheld VHF Radio.  Gandermountain.com has them for $109.99.  There is an unadvertised $20 off purchases over $100.  Use code GM2WL27 in the check out where there is a promotional code box.  That will drop it down to $89.99.  The website says there is also a $20 mail-in rebate through Standard Horizon so if that still applies it would bring it down to $69.99.  Gander offers free shipping as well as no tax.

If you want a floating version of the same thing the 290 version is just $10 more.

The $20 off $100 applies to anything just use the code GM2WL27 .  I picked up a few reels this way, just made separate purchases.

Tried this code on Apr. 30 after 10:00 P.M., and it said that it was not valid, is there a new one for May ?

I found this on Google - you can get one under a hundred anyway.

It's worth it.   :smt001

Looks like the 20 off $100 is gone.  I did find a 10 off $100.  WANTACD is the code.  Basically, all I do is type "Gander Mountain Coupon" in your search engine (Yahoo, Google, etc.)  It brings up a bunch of sites that deal in coupons.  Take your choice as they usually post the same info.  Some show the 20 off but they didn't work for me any more either.  The $10 ones worked though.

Thanks again Steve, 10 bucks beats nothing.  :smt003
Just ordered and it worked, hope it gets here on time, better late than never.

P.S. - Thanks Eric, not a bad deal, would make a great backup radio
