It works great. It is located on the right side behind my seat.

Just tested mine over the weekend. Mounted on the Rod Pod hatch of my Trident with a pulley mounted on the side of the yak to route the cable over the side. Worked fine....a bit slower than the electrics on my boat :smt001

I'll try to post a picture of the setup and routing soon.

I'm running 2 Scotty rod holder mounted downriggers.  Works great in Salt & Fresh applications.  Mounted right behind my seat as to not come in the way of my paddle stroke and easily reached.  Others I've seen are mounted ahead of the stroke so they can see what's going on with their rod.  To each their own.

I have not personally used one, however I have rigged up a few on customers kayaks and they have had good reviews. We have been using the Lake Troller by Scotty and mounting it on a flush mount behind the seat on the dominate hand side. Easy to reach and out of the way of your stroke. Would like to see how it works mounted to the rod pod.
