I'm not sure if this is new from Malibu, but I could definitely see it in a well rounded yak-fishing quiver.  More Australian style.  Gets you out in beach break.

I like the looks of it. it's nice to see a bit of performance mixed into the fishing yak scene.

Cargo capacity is somewhere in the 250-pound range.

Is it just me or does that kayak look really low profile? I wonder what is the freeboard with 250 pounds on board?

It's basically a sit-on-top longboard.  That's how I started out, on longboards fishing out of Linda Mar.  A set-up like this is spare, you can't take a lot of crap.  But it will get you out, an more importantly back in in conditions you would not be able to make in conventional sit-on-tops.  Up here on the North Coast, that could really help out getting out to salmon from beaches where there's no other access.

I'd like to have one as a second boat.

I really like the looks of it. Looks like a surf striper slayer.
