We're driving down from WA for GS6 and I'm thinking of getting our licenses online. Anyone know how long it takes to get the license? I've never done one online.

My recollection is that you can print out a receipt/temp license to use immediately...that's what my Dad does when he comes to visit from Louisiana.

Quote
Self-Print Temporary Document: Annual licenses will be mailed to you. However, at the end of the transaction you will be able to print a temporary document for immediate use until you receive your annual license. A working printer is required to view and print the temporary document.

Self-Print Short-Term Licenses: Short-Term license documents will NOT be mailed to you. You must be able to print the license at the time of purchase. You will be responsible for printing your short term document. A working printer is required to view and print your license.

I would go on there and try and see how it goes...good luck and look forward to seeing you up there!

Jim

Hit up Walmart in crescent city or the fish and game office at 2nd and J st in Eureka (literally 3 blocks out of your way going through town).  You can also get what you need at pacific outfitters at 5th and R st (where R st  turns into Myrtle Ave. In case your gps gives you issues) in eureka, which is only one block out of your way and has sufficient parking for your rigs.

As I understand it your temp license will work off the printer but you need the actual abalone tags and I wouldn't want to risk the mail for that.

Note that is R st, not S st.

For those keeping score, yes I just got lost in my own neighborhood.

I have to order online too. It only takes a few days to get the ab tags, salmon report card etc in the mail from your online purchase. Don't count on any shop having non resident tags. Alan does it this way and we have had to run to multiple shops in the past looking for a nonresident license.  :smt013
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

I don't think that is a problem since going to the new system where your licenses and tags are printed on the spot. Of course the abalone tag is now every bit of four feet long...

I was under the impression that a salmon report card/tag/permit (whatever you wanna call it)  was not required for ocean salmon?

Can someone post a link to where it specifically says that there IS one required?

Thanks!

NO SALMON PUNCHCARD IS REQUIRED.  This from someone who's already caught some this year.  Just get your out of state license, and you DO need additional tags for ABALONE.

Sorry for yelling.   :smt003
