Hi Tim, I believe I can get out and will check fam's calendar today. I need to get on the water. Mitch and Sam may join me. I was thinking Shasta, unless the koke have have started biting on WT. I have not caught one yet and would like to add one to my list. I am even game to driving more if Almanor or Oroville or ? somewhere new) :smt001

I'll be covering the shop Friday and Saturday and was planning on leaving for BSS on Saturday night, after 6. Got room in the truck if you want to go. It's going to be no frills crashing a camp site guys trip style. We could take a trailer and hold 4 yaks if we all want to car pool / split gas. Returning after the awards on Sunday. Probably be back in redding around 8 pm.

Way to be a road worrier Jeff. Wish I didn't have to hang at Paddlefest for two days. Would much rather be at BSS.

As much as I'd love to hit Almanor, I have house guests this weekend and would like to keep this trip down to 6 hours  :smt003
I have not checked the local reports yet, but would love to try for kokes @ WT, or crappie @ Jones Valley area.

Sorry Jeff, I really wanted to fish BSS2 as that is my old stomping grounds  :smt002 ( prior to a kayak ) but my work schedule is not a schedule at all  :smt119
Good luck down there and tight lines.

Morning guys.  I have a search/rescue overnight training this weekend, which just happens to be up on Shasta (gee, I wonder who's suggestion that was!).  Our plan is to launch off Mariners Point and camp out on Ski Island tomorrow night.  I'll be shuttling our group (only 6 of us or so) with my yaks/raft, we have most of the day set aside for meetings and stuff but I plan on squeezing in a bit of fishing tomorrow.  Sunday I have to shuttle everyone back, then I have the rest of the afternoon free to fish, so I'll be in the Mariners Point area fishing off and on all weekend.

Striperman, BSS is the Berryessa Salmon Slam tournament going on this weekend.

Sorry Dave, it's been a long week, a try for kokes sounds good, are you fishing Sat. or Sun. ?
I did'nt have a chance to follow up till now, at this point I'm looking at Sun. AM.
If you make it out Sat., please send me a report.

No reports on the Kokes yet, think I'll head to Mariners point early Sun. am and see what Ben is up to, I plan on sending down some secret agents to see if there are crappie / bass willing to play  :smt003

Mowing like crazy now so I might be able to get out again tomorrow. Came in to cool off  :smt004. I went this morning to Jones Valley. The Cruz and the other market/bait shop along Dry Creek were out of secret agents...well actually he gave me the last one...the little guy died a slow death and no one wanted him. I trolled a threaded night crawler and some plastics. No luck. Some of  PBers showed little respect so I said bag this as a boat full of them circled me at a nice deep wake speed and I really believe were clueless I was there. With all the dogs barking and the locals coming out to get out of the heat I said... another day...the peace was gone.

Thanks for the heads up Dave, I guess I'll hit up Phil's in the AM and head in the back way, hope to see you there.
I hear you on bailing out, once the serenity is gone you might as well go home  :smt011
