Last minute, but...
I have Monday off and I'm heading to Pardee in the morning.  Leaving my house about 5:30am, I should be at the dock around 6:30am.

I'll be on 69 if anyone happens to make it out there.

This will be my first kayak trip to Pardee.  I've fished it by boat and from shore 100's of times though.  I have a whole bunch of new tackle I want to try out and tomorrow looks to be a nice day for it.

Cheers!!

I was going to go out this morning but changed to Wednesday instead.  I just retired last Friday so I have plenty of free time now!   :smt002

Great day to be on the water at Pardee.  That facility is a class act.  First things first; no fishies.  In fact, I didn't see anyone with fish.  The few boats out there I talked with said they didn't get any either.  I got two good strikes on a F7 flat fish top trolled but that was about it.  Saw very few fish on the FF as well.  I put in 10 miles total trolling around pulling everything from a wedding ring behind flashers with a kernel of corn to a worm.  Tried several soft plastics where I could find some structure but nada.  I fished from the launch and kept to the right hand shore leaving the narrows to the main body, around woodpile and to the dam, then back.  When I did see fish on the FF, they were suspended off submerged islands at about 15 to 20 feet down in 40 feet of water.  I would guess bank fishing would produce, but I had much more fun cruising the lake.  My bet is the arm of the lake going up the river would be the better bet for fishing.  Or try the left bank leaving the boat launch.  I had my binoculars and did a lot of spying on what other guys were using and doing.  I switched up to the down rigger and started to troll at 20 feet down because that's what other guys were doing, but they didn't have any luck and neither did I.  I asked the gal at the gate when I left and she said they had a big bass tournament over the weekend, so maybe that pushed the fish deep.  Those bass boats really tear around the lake.
The water is good condition and it's about 2 to 3 feet from topped off.  I got on the water by 6:30am and got back to the ramps at 3:30pm  I would have stayed longer but figured with no signs of action, I'd pack it in and get things all taken care of and put away for next trip soon as I got home.

Well, there is always next time!  I only got one the last time I was there a few weeks ago.
