These are the ones that Porky and I got from AquaSafaris right here in town off 41st:

http://www.austinsdiving.com/proddetail.php?prod=420401

Go and try them on with your freedive socks though cuz they run big...I wear a size 13 shoe and I have the 45-46 (10-11) fin and it is definitely not too tight.

I think they work good and are pretty tough...every now and again the blade pops out of the rail, but I have always been able to get it back in.

Hope this helps.

That's what I been reading online, that the blade pop off and gets harder n harder to put them back on.

Yeah I haven't noticed it happening more often or getting harder to put back on....I don't think Porky has had a problem either....

I broke the hardware off the bottom on a shore entry up at Shelter Cove last year, and AquaSafaris mailed them back to Mares and they fixed them and mailed them back....

I don't have experience with any other long blade fins so can't tell you how they stack up...I'm sure other folks will chime in.

Sincerely,

Jim

Mines only popped out once, its minor. In fact I lost the clip that holds in place, and used it for months with out the clip, with no issues. Finally got a new clip for $1, perfect ever since.

Love em, and the price is great!

Yeah, pretty good fin. I've never had the blades pop out (I've had them over a year). They're fairly durable, too. Mine are scratched up like crazy, but it hasn't had an effect on their performance.

They're a relatively stiff fin, which really isn't necessary for the shallow diving we do around here... I think the Mares Razors (not pros) aren't as stiff, and therefore probably more conducive to local diving.

Shark bait- yea man, I was looking at that fin online too. They got a very good review, but couldn't find one to try on locally. And I think they were 50$ cheaper than the mares pro.
I went to bamboo reef on lighthouse n try on the mares pro. I like them alot but they sizing was kidda odd, had to get two sizes smaller.. Lucky I don't order it online with out trying them on.. That would of suck..
Anyways thanks for everyone input.
I'll be picking up the Instinct Pro today at 4pm. Can't wait
