I normally mount the transducer in-hull, and run the cable thru the front hatch. That works fine on my Revo, but I've seen videos of AI where the the bow can submerge in windy conditions. I don't think running the cable thru the front hatch would be a good idea. Just trying to see how other AI owners mount their transducers.

Thx,
ernest

I ran mine out of the front hatch for 6 months, with lots of water over teh bow and not much noticeable leakage.  I'm running it through a clam fitting now (just to the skier's left of the pad eye for the drive leash).  I didn't want to drill until i knew exactly where i wanted the head unit- now i'm set...head unit on the front aka cross bar

Lucky I mounted my transducer in the back (stern) I glued it in with Goop, just tested last weekend and work great very clear screen. My battery is also in the stern (back) I am trying to keep the bow as lite as possible. I all most got my rig done will post pic soon.

Thanks Steve, Pat.

Pat, where do you mount your FF, and how do you route your cables to the unit? Did you drill a hole somewhere?

I'm trying to avoid drilling as much as possible. I do know that I want to put the FF within reach so I can mark waypoints. If the front hatch leakage is not an issue, I may simply do what I've been doing and run the data cable thru the front hatch. Another thought is to mount a rail between the front/back AKA mounts, right along the side of the kayak. If I go that route, I can install all kinds of rod mounts, as well as an external transducer mount right on the rail. Obviously, this second method requires some fabrication, and it may be in the way if I ever want to get on the tramp. Decisions, decisions....

Thanks,
ernest

Mine is in the same place as pats- front aka cross bar, left of the mast almost to the knuckle
