Does anyone have an extra Left handed Curado they want to sell me? I want to buy one, but thought I'd check with y'all before I break the bank on a new one. Thanks guys.

They don't come in the lefty bro. :smt003 I know that you have posted from the past about getting a low profile in the left hand. All of my baitcast reels are also a
lefty. I bought some shimano right hand trying to get use to it even playing with it while watching TV. I should take it out one day and just get use to it I guess. We'll see. Good luck bro. Oh and as you know I buy everything in two so that means I also have the righty in two. :smt011

Oops, let me change the title.  The Lefty is the 301E.  I'm almost certain.  Do you know of any other low pro baitcasters that compare to the Curado?  I want one that will be able to handle some of the bigger salt species like WSB and Halibut...Right handed baitcasters are too hard for me to enjoy using.

I have the Revo toro 61 that I've landed the sturgeon on my avatar. I've also fought a WSB on it with no problem. The problem was me not landing it being a newbie on my part. :smt003 I'll be ready this time though now that I know what's to expect. :smt002

The Toro 61 I filled with 300yds 40lbs PP So that would be more than plenty of line for the WSB fishing and other things as well. Oh and landed a nice 37" halibut that was caught in Capitola fishing with AlsHobie.

The 301E is a left hand reel and it's sweet. Buy it on Ebay to save money. I got a great deal there.
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

Looking at the Power Pro line conversion charts it looks like 65lb power pro is similar in diameter as that of 15lb mono.  According to the Curado 301E spec sheet, it can hold 190 yards of 16lb mono, so that would be likewise for 65lb braid right?  190 yards of 65lb mono.  Can anyone confirm that a Curado can hold about 190 yards of 65lb braid?
Hopefully the above isn't too confusing.  I just dont want to get spooled by a big fish  :smt003

You could also run some 50 lb braid? The 50 and 65 doesnt seem to cut into its self like the 30 or 40.

50/205,65/120,80/105

These are the power pro lb/yard chart for the 301E. @ 50lb thats quite a bit. United Outdoors on Ebay usually has the best prices. Craig

Bro, 65lbs braid will be way too thick for the reel. Plus, you have to think of if ever you snag out on the ocean. You need to be able to break off without struggling. Just my .02 cents Jeff of course. :smt002 I'm glad to hear you save some cash on your purchase.

I always appreciate your input Jed, as well and everyone else.  I'm thinking 65lb for sturgeon (I've got the sturgeon fever bad!) and then switching it out to something lower for other fishing.  I may just keep some 30lb on it and keep using my current sturgeon reels.  The Curado with 30lb on it will be good for a wide variety of fish.  So many fish to fish for!  I love it!
