Santa Cruz Pier Launch

Back in the 80's there was a launch about 1/3 from the entrance that had stairs you go down to launch boats from; is that still there?  Would be a great place to launch yaks from, or what do those kayak schools launch from when they are at the pier?

There's a public landing thats still there.  Its not open yet though.  As of last weekend the stairs were still raised.  Not sure when they will open but should be soon. 

2 week ago, I was at capitola pier. It is already open for launch. Kayak launch from Pier (ramp) is free. Nice.
