Stillwater South Directions

Drove down to Monterey last Saturday for a look around and lunch at the wharf . Tried to find SWS as I have never been there but see it is quite popular . Any way to get there without paying the fee to use the 17-Mile Drive ?  Too far for me to drive for a day trip , any nice campgrounds close by ?

No, you need to pay the entry fee. If you do a quick search on this forum I know there are directions posted, as well as Google Earth shots. I'm currently too lazy to do it for you...

Thanks Usagi , I looked on Google Earth and did not see any other obvious route , but figured one of the local kayakers would have the inside scoop . Really too far in this economy to worry about anyway .

If you get a drink at any of the restaurants I believe they refund your entrance.

If you are up for a short paddle you can also launch from Carmel beach and paddle over to the cove and surrounding areas.
