Saturday was the annual kids fish day in Campbell. Last year I swore to myself that I would never do this again. It was a mess of snags and frustration. Ahhhhh... what we do for the kiddies. I got Evan up at the crack saturday morning. (BTW- the tooth fairy had visited him Friday night... he was stoked. Cha-Ching!!!) We grabbed our gear, went to Maple Leaf for some killer donuts and then to the pond. This year I took Jr. out on the kayak. To my surprise... the perk ponds were loaded when we got there at 0615am. Found parking down the street, unloaded the yak and we were off. Things started off pretty slow, but picked up around 0745am. We didn't catch anything huge but, Jr had a great time. By 0930am, we had our go home fish. Rather than putting him on the stringer, Jr wanted to let him go so he could fish some more. All in all, he finally tired out around 1130am. He was the troop... little man stayed put on the yak for 5 hrs with only one bathroom break. Savage in training... yeah, that's my boy!!! He caught 13 fish in all, kept 5 and that was that.

Nice report.

Very nice, Freddie!

The smile on your son's face in the second pic says it all.  :smt001

Great pics of what looks like a great day!!!.

My little guy is going to be 3 in a few days and he already casts his rod all around the house.  He can cast damn good., I can't wait to get him on the water but I still think he is a little too small.

J-

The first time I took Jr. there was when he was 3. He did great... for about 2hrs. Then, he started to get bored... throw rocks in the water and chase ducks. Went with Stuart and his little one last year... highlight of that day was Stuie catching a big old bull frog. That entertained the kiddies for a while. If you can handle all the people next to you... it's pretty cool getting out there with the little ones. I think your son will be ready when this comes around again next year.

Davey-

Small castmasters worked best for us. We also got them on powerbait on a bubble.
