you are in the delta area.....there is ALOT of water to fish. Dont get scared, we only preach the safety thing because it's important. Once you get some time in on the water, you'll be alot more comfortable wearing your PFD at all times. :smt002

WTTM!
If you are new to paddling seriously consider an "intro to kayaking" class. Some shops will let you use sit on top boats. You'll learn proper paddling techniques, rescues, and all that good stuff in a 1/2 day class.  Paddling is kind of like learning to drive. As my dad said when I was 15 "you need to be comfortable doing several things at once" :smt044

I advise looking at some of the forums and getting a nice setup
(anchor, trolling mount, GPS, est.)

Welcome bro! This is where I learned as well, there is a wealth of knowledge on this site and from the people here. Getting on the water slowly but surely will help your progress, then you can get a better idea of how you want to set things up, especially after seeing how others rig up, fish, etc.

I'm still learning myself... see you on the water!
