It's time to replace my waders for fly fishing and I'm considering one of the models that have a relief zipper. Has anybody used any of these? Ever had a leak?

Unlike being on a yak, the zipper will be underwater most of the day so I am wondering if some models are better than others. I won't pay $600 for the Sims G4 w/relief zipper, but Frog Toggs and Sportsman's both have models in the $200 range with relief zippers. Anybody have experience with relief zippers on waders while fly fishing?

Thanks Sonny! They sell that same pair at Sportsman's too. Do you know much about them?

Here's some info for ya, http://www.shastatrout.com/zippers-on-waders-a-fly-fishing-guides-review

A guide friend of mine has Redington zippered waders and likes them alot. I don't have experience with zippered waders but I like Simms myself now, my G3's have lasted longer than other wader I have owned.

I used to buy cheaper waders and replaced them every year or sooner. I wade quite a bit on some tough rivers (the Pit and the Klamath from Copco to JC Boyle being the toughest). I do get leaks but have not had a seam fail yet, aquaseal/cotol is your friend. Scrambling down the canyon/slimey sharp rocks of the Klamath especially will tear up any wader. The neoprene gravel guards on my G3's are actually wearing out faster than the rest of the waders from rubbing on the boot lace hooks on my boots. Simms said they will replace those if I send them in though.

No. It got good reviews and I am thinking about buying it when my old wader need to be replaced.
