Friday I went to Pardee, ended up having to get off the water after a few hours because I had wool blend thermals on and got too hot.  It was too warm to wear my drysuit AND the thermals so I left the drysuit in the truck.  Would Polartecs under the drysuit be more comfortable for moderate ambient temps?  it was partly cloudy with temps in the 65 to 70 degree range.  Is a drysuit going to be too warm period with temps in that range?  A drysuit won't be comfortable without other clothes to keep it away from your skin, right?  I have a Kokatat Angler drysuit..
Fishing is cheaper than therapy!

I'd say (rain, wind and choppy seas excluded) a dry suit while safe is overly hot for much over 55 - 60 degrees. Regardless if drysuit or pants and top I layer with two polar tech "long johns" on the bottom. One if its sunny/warm. My top gets a similar treatment. The prob with the dry suit is you can shed a layer safely. I'd say I use the drysuit maybe 5 times a year at the most. If its that crappy out I ain't going (unless its a tourney) oh and good socks! I always have a layer under it all. It either keeps me warm or wicks moisture.
