Spending Turkey day at Dillon beach. Wondering if anybody has experience crabbing there.

I've seen people using crab rings off the dock at Lawsons Landing. As for Dillon beach itself....that shore break can be nasty if you plan on launching there. I wouldn't do it.

make sure your pots have at least 5 lbs of weight in them. Launch next to the pier at lawsons landing. Don't go out the mouth of the bay as the currents at the mouth can be sketchy. Set pots inside the bay and  GET SOME !! as Sledge would say.

Another thing to watch out for on big tides is Eel grass. If there is a ton of loose grass it will wrap on your floats and pull the float under or even drag your pots away if you set up in the deeper channels. Have Fun!

My opinion is don't do it there.  Go to Doran instead.  It
s about the same distance anyway.
