Vwool, Jbaker, Joe from Headwaters in Redding, Ron, and Donna hit the Mokelumne River yesterday in hopes for some more steelhead action. I think everyone caught something, mostly trout, and one sucker fish. The float was beautiful as always and the friends could not be beat. I had to pull out early to go open the shop but everyone took photos to share.

I posted them up on the Headwaters Fishing Team Facebook page, check em out:

had a great time out there with everyone. I really enjoyed paddling the Jackson kayak coosa, that boat is awesome is moving water. I could hit the fast moving riffles, then spin 180 at the bottom to cast up and float a bait down in to the pools with extreme ease. I cough 2 native trout that were pretty small and 1 steelhead at around 17". I also cough a craw dad, first crawdad and steelhead for me so I was pretty stoked. VWool got a nice sac sucker at the end, pretty funny watching his face go from sheer joy for the hopes of a big steele, then change to dismay form realizing it was a sucker. good times

Sounds cool,
Jeff ,did you try the Mad River worms ?
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Nice report - I liked seeing the different models of boats in your pics, Dan.  Cool that you were OTW with your Dad too.   :smt001

Nice trout, JBaker - NVS hits the southern end.   :smt002

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

It was an awesome time and it was nice to fish with you Jeff. Looking forward to hitting your neck of the woods one of these days. Here are some photos of the day.
