Being from the Tahoe area, the water is pretty cold all the time.
Reading about the dangers, the wife and I bought dry suits.
Turns out that they are so much of a pain to use, we ended up passing on kayaking more often than not.
The wife prefers riding in the 12' Gregor instead of her Yak.
Not sure what it will take to get her interested in yakking again.

Hey guys!
Thanks for all the great replys!
So my neighbor sold me a shorty wet suit for pretty damn cheap.
No that I have one to start with...One question arose.
Do you just freeball in a wet suit? I would think it would be pretty uncomfortable if you wore underwear of any sort.

a Rash Guard is a must andshould be worn on top.....if not you will get a friction rash around your neck and armpits......they are found at REI, surf shop or any shop that sells wet suits.
