My dad and I fished Pardee on Sunday. Arrived at 7:30am, off the water around 11:30am.

We trolled the mouth and along the bluffs. Hooked and lost 4, netted 2 nice rainbows. One on a orange grub behind a dodger, the other on a crawler behind a dodger. I'm not sure what the usual boat pressure is there, but there were a lot of boats. Everyone was polite and trolled clear of each other. We had a very nice morning.

Here's dad with his catch of the day.

Would kayak trolling work at Pardee?

Pardee has some really nice fish. Looks like you guys had a great trip. I went across the dam this morning and the water is going over the spillway- Pardee is way full.

The lake is full. Looked nice with the hills covered with green. That won't last long.

You can kayak fish pardee. I saw a few boats (not kayaks) paddling around in the marina area. One banker said he and his wife got two limits of planters near the marina. They were smaller fish than ours.

I did see a kayak near the mouth of the Moke on the lake. Looked like he was checking out the geese on the bluffs.

A fish finder would have helped us. I forgot mine.

I fished Pardee a few weeks ago with my Kayak.   I did very well trolling grubs.  The only drawback is that it's a long paddle to the good fishing spots.

I have been successful for bass and trout everywhere in this lake from inside the 5 mile zone right at the laucnh to way up the river.  The kokanee have me a bit stumped, though I have caught a few trolling in the main lake.

I do not see why you couldn't troll right away, but being a newbie I was asking if anyone has been doing it

Now that I have written this, I thnk I answered my own question.  I'm just not used to thinking about kayak fishing, but of course you just go fishing.  If I can do it from a power boat I can do it from a kayak, maybe scaled back and simplified a bit  for the smaller amount of gear you can bring to the fight.

Hmmm.  Anyone try to use a downrigger from a kayak?
