A friend of mine sent this to me. I turned 21 in a war zone many moons ago and this provoked something in me that I must say transcended time. I wasn't a Marine but was an Army Medic. I saw worst then what these youngsters did! And felt disturbed with how we treated and accused these Marines with wrong doing. Posted for your thoughts and comments, Frank

SEMPER FI! I only wish that I had written this wonderful piece.

The objective of war is victory. Obviously our politicians and military leaders have forgotten this simple theme since WWII. The following was sent by a former Marine who served both in Korea and Vietnam, he is dead on...

My Two Cents
Okay, I have to say something about the Marine pissing incident. Was it inappropriate? Yes. Would I have done it? Probably not. Would I have done it when I was 19? Maybe. Were there times that I may have done it in Viet Nam if time permitted? There is a good chance for, “probably”. I was 22 when I was there and was called the old man and Pops.
We send kids a year out of high school to the worst hell holes on earth and expect them to behave better than they did at their senior prom. So many Americans have lived for multiple generations with security at home that they can’t comprehend what goes on in other parts of the world. “War is Hell”, isn’t just something they say in the movies. First of all, you are exhausted all the time because you never sleep deeply. Your body is running on high idle even when you try to rest. The places we send these kids to, stink from lack of sanitation. There are bugs and mold and mildew and trash and human waste everywhere. You are in some level of fear all the time. You have seen, smelled, heard, touched and done things no sane person would ever want to do.
There is no script for war. It is improv at its best. Shit happens and it happens fast. A blind eye should be turned to many, many things.
We have no idea what led up to this incident. Did these kids eat in the past 24 hours? Have they slept in the past 36 hours? What did these talabaners do?
War is about killing people and breaking their things. We have forgotten how to fight. You can’t win peoples hearts while shooting their Uncle Fred. We knock down a dung and stick shed, and then replace it with a $12,000,000 hospital! Well who won that one?
This is how we need to fight.

1. Go in, kick ass on those who pissed us off.
2. Destroy their infrastructure.
3. Go home when you are sure they won’t have the desire to screw with us again for at least two generations.
I hate war. I’m glad my sons didn’t have to go to war.
In reference to current times, we will never win the hearts of Muslims. They don’t even like themselves, hate their family and kill their neighbors, so what chance do we stand. The only course to follow is to convince them that the cost of messing with the West is way too high.
Back to the pissing kids. Slap their hands, tell them not to do it again and not to try to figure out how pissing is bad and killing is okay.
War is HELL; it sucks, smells bad and is bad for your physical and mental health. Don’t sit in your recliner watching CNN and pass judgment on these kids.

Amen. That was right on. Being a vet, and having done time in Douchebagistan, there isn't much else I can respond with on this topic without getting banned from my favorite site on the Internet. Thanks Frank, that was dead on bro.

ive never seen war, but i get what he was saying in the above story,my old man fought back in the day, and i respect all who have to go through that hell.

Its too bad people get so uptight over this incident, as mentioned those kids are in a living hell. I probably wouldnt do it, but then again if i was in that hell, who knows what id be doing? I dont think the incident is any big deal. They already killed them, being pissed on is the least of their worries.

Were'nt their guys chopping heads off live people on video? hanging heads from bridges? A little piss aint so bad.

I cant even imagine what you vets have seen and lived, i support the 4 kids in the video. we got teachers in SoCal molesting kids in ours schools and people are upset about this incident...

Hard to Imagine the Madness that reins in our PC Wars and how these kids deal with it...

were not allowed to know what really goes on nor could we ever understand even if we were shown, yet we expect so much from these kids who were in grade school when 911 went down... UnF$#@#ing believable

I wanted to serve, but had a problem with authority... I can understand the feeling that these kids have to do the noble and brave thing to fight for a country and the people in it that they love...

and then horrors that no person should ever go through happen, how can they be expected to deal?

I'll never forget these kids talking to me at a Dog and Pony show I was doing for HOW. They were in a firefight for hours... when they knocked down all the bad guys... they were pumped... not one of them got a scratch...

they started to look over their dead targets... realizing that some of them were women and children....

Ya...  War is Hell....

Thanks Frank,

I have a hippie relative that I wrote this for.  I called it The Student.

The past is the past
Or so it’s been said
But we always need to remember
The names of the dead

From Tokyo and Berlin
They returned to a cheer
But from Hanoi and Saigon
Cursing, spitting and jeers.

This shit came from students
Who knew not a wit
They had barely stopped feeding
From societies tit

With wild eyed dreams
Of a socialist nirvana
They don’t ever notice
The anarchist piranha

The worst of the worst
Has always been Red
I don’t mean Kansas
I mean the Soviets Dead

They kill without reason
Forget civil rights
In Cambodia whole villages
Disappeared in the night.

In the African land
That we call Darfur
Is a killing field happening
Families hacked to ribbons, what for?

So the Muslim militia
Can take what they please
Oh I forgot that only whitey
Has killing laid at its knees.

They blame the U.S.
For all that goes wrong
They never have solutions
As they suck from the bong

They yell no blood for oil
As they commute to their school
Protest against everything
If you’re against us ‘you fool’

They scream for equality
As they persecute whites
At police they hurl rocks
Don’t you see all their fright?

They know they won’t suffer
In any permanent way
Unlike Tiananmen
Where lives ended that day.

And the right they enjoy
To blame us for all
Is fought for and paid for
By those who answer the call

They may not be heroes
GI Joe is a myth
But this all volunteer army
It not something to mess with

They are having some troubles
obtaining new blood
But the currently serving
Are not leaving the mud

so they seem to understand
what the populace does not
democracy is messy
and often requires a shot

it doesn’t run on timetables
but the enemy knows
that the American public
Cant tell friend from foe.

So they play to our media
And feed all the lies
So that the soft hearted students
Will face down and cry

And when they win
In Cambodia and Iran
The real meaning of terror
Is known by man

So thanks to the soldier
Who fights there for me
To allow student shitheads
To be all they can be
