I felt like tinkering today so I hit the garage to change a few things on my yak today. while out fishing yesterday I kept getting my line snagged on the bolts that hold my FF head unit to a ram base. as you can see in the first pic they were way too long. so I switched 'em out and gooped the nuts so theres no sharp edges to get hung up on. I also came to realize that I had no good place to leash my rods to. I used to leash everything to my seat straps witch was not pretty. I can store rods inside the hull for surf launches so the pad eyes are just for OTW Insurance.  hope you enjoy

I just love to tinker!!! sometimes I think I just buy stuff to see want I can do to it!!!!

Nice job on the upgrades!!!  always nice when a plan comes together....

Next time try using acorn nuts and a short bolt/screw; very snagless....

Also look into s/s fasteners... the are less likely to corrode....

Nicely done Jeff  :smt001
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Use bungie or stretch cord instead of rope.
Should you become entangled for whatever reason the 'stretch' in the cord will give you some play room to work with.
It's the same idea behind lanyards for ab irons and gauges.

Nicely done. One of the things I love about this group is their ability to modify, change, re-engineer, etc.
