A group of friends, 3 cars, went to San Mateo coast line for some surf perch fishing.  The spot was approximately 5~10 miles south of hwy 92/hwy 1 junction (forgive me not to describe the exact spot ... I have poor memory). Parked around 9am and fished til 11:30am.

In between those time, some low life broke in my car and the truck of my friend's by smashing driver's side window.  I lost my wallet and cell phone... est. lost = $1.1 thousand dollars (because I just helped buying a used kayak for the friend and he paid me in cash... should have asked for check ><...).  Police said they have observed 2 break in 2 day prior just a bit south.

Be careful out there Anglers!  South of HMB to Pigeon Point has some low life wondering around.  Take your wallet with you!

Ouch, that sucks ... but man, never leave your wallet in your car, even if not in plain sight.

Thanks for the heads-up!

thanks for the alert. Those lonely coast roads always seem safe but all it takes is one low life.....

Yea, it was a bad call.  At first thought, I don't want to leave so much cash in the car but at the same time don't want to bring it with me as I like to go light.

Expansive lesson learned.  Economy is not doing good, I gotta start taking extra cautions on almost anything now.

Since the low life have my driver ID and my home address, I've loaded my gun in the house.  By the way, the dude used my credit card @ a gas station north of HMB.  The police is on it, hopefully a video/picture of the person will help cracking the case.

Yeah, I don't trust anybody.  Sadly, the world is going to H*LL in a handbasket - and quick!

That's a pisser!     Same break-in thing happened to us way up north on a river bank on Fed Land a couple years back. They got them on video using my card but asked me if I could hold off pressing charges until they could bust the two juveniles for something a bit more serious as they had been in and out of the "system" a bunch already...I agreed.

A month later I received a call from the ranger ...his plan worked. He couldn't  be too specific but the charges included...stolen hand gun, stolen laptop, meth, and an out of season poached elk in the truck when they were pulled over. The gun was stolen the day before they burglarized the house with the laptop so they were hoping to charge them with committing a felony with a gun. The ranger said they should get a five year minimum. It was worth the wait

Sorry to hear the bad news!  I will keep that in mind.  Let me know when the NCKA Posse/Ambush starts up. Barefoot water skiing @ Bean Hollow behind a boat powered by a trolling motor comes to mind.  No muss, no fuss!
