Hi. New member hoping to get more into the outdoors in the new year. Boatless currently but the plan is to get comfortable shore-fishing around HMB Pillar Point harbor then do some fishing off of a rental kayak in the harbor. So far on my checklist* I've caught barred surf perch, grass rf, cabezon, and monkey faced prickleback. A guy down the wall caught a perchy looking fish but it had some electric blueish pinstriping. ID please?

(not an official checklist at this point but I'd like to have one like the DFG Passport list for the PP harbor. Anyone got such a list?)

You're right. Thanks. I just googled it and found it at the CA DFG site (common surfperch id http://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHandler.ashx?DocumentID=36617&inline=true)  but it wasn't on their marine sportfish ID page.

Welcome!!

Pretty sure that's a striped perch...

Sincerely,

Jim
