110 times the normal level for toxins?  Can't be good for much of anything.

Mercury levels were 110 times the federal government's protective levels; lead was five times over the levels and copper was 86 times. PCBs, or polychlorinated biphenyls, a carcinogenic chemical banned in 1979 and commonly found in older cars and industrial equipment, were found to be at levels 10,000 times the federal government's acceptable levels for soil.

Damn! Makes you wonder what are the levels in stripers and sturgeons in the Bay. :smt011

hahaha I fish that all the time for rays and sharks (NO WAY WILL I EAT EM). Crazy to think that the pier rats fish w/i 100 yards of that conveyor belt and I know they keep the catch.

That conveyer belt operation looked mighty outdated,,,,,it should have been no surprize to anyone that it's contaminated.
when i was a kid, we'd play along the ElCerrito(east bay shoreline). The shoreline was made of cracked truck&car batteries. The crabs would hide in the cells and we'd dig them out to play with them.......20 years later they closed the intire area due to the samething. They cleaned it up and it is now a very popular dog park. I've no residual side effects.(that i know of) other than small penisittis :smt013

Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.
