I looked at and bought a few "adventure kayaking" guides on Amazon.com for both freshwater and saltwater trips in California.  i will post a review when I get them - in a couple of weeks - to the extent a newbie can make sense of them.  Anybody out there use such books? Comments?  Thanks.
