Dave and Dave paddled out of Mackericker Park and headed north hoping for salmon, but no luck. The water looked about as un salmony  as it gets: really clear, no sign of plankton or jelly fish or anything.  We showed no bait on the finder, but big schools of, I guess, rockfish about 10 ft off the bottom.

We spied two party boats off in the distance up by the Tenmile river mouth, so we paddled all the way up there thinking they were on to something.  After paddling forever to get up there, we realized they were just pulling crab traps.....do-oh.  We got a good workout and I c&r a ling that took my salmon setup.  We saw another humpback and a bunch of pacific whitesided dolpnins. The dolphins came right up to the boat....probably laughing at us.

It's good to have something to smile at.  We had a grey whale just as we got to the mile buoy out of Moss.  That was the most life Randy and I enjoyed on the water today as well.
Saltwater is the cure for everything that ails us,
sweat, tear or the sea.

It was about 5-8' maybe a little bigger on the sets.  Nothing scary, but both Dave and I were seriously in danger of tossing our cookies when we tried to tie gear.  I didn't lose it, but I did a good barking dog imitation a few times.

snap swivel and pre-tied leaders, or learn to tie blindfolded so you can keep your eyes on the horizon!

no fish finder screen to stare at.

working so far for me,  :smt002.

I got some indigestion from eating lunch out on the boat, but otherwise, I'm doing well on that score.

pat, the otter raft in the harbour is pretty amazing really. never seen so many otters before. plenty sea lions
and harbour seals too. loons, grebes, terns, gulls, scoters. A few more salmon would be nice, I grant you,
but if you also saw a whale you are doing pretty well!
