Places to fish near Embassy Suites, Sacramento

I'm going to be in Sacramento in January and I will be staying at Embassy Suites next to the river.  Can I fish off the walkway next to the hotel?

Is there a place close by that I can fish from shore?  I just want to kill some time in between my daughter's soccer games.

I'm sure one of us can loan you a yak. I know you know what I have. I think you can fish down there near or on those docks. There are better places near by though. Put up another post in Jan and we will try to hook you up.
