A couple of questions about these traps , hopefully someone can help me with.  They don't appear to have an escape opening for undersized crab , is that legal for these type of traps and if not how do you go about fitting one ? Also it appears Promar make 2 different sized traps , what is the preferred size ?

Thank , Dan

i believe they do have an escape ring.
and BTW i was schooled by Chuck and his promars vs. my steel square traps on short soaks yesterday.
i will have promars next time
my steel squares are perhaps more suited to a longer soak. and it was easy to get the craps out.  it is more difficult to get the crabs out of a promar.

Promar has to model numbers, the 102's has the escape rings.

I might be wrong but I think it is the promar 102W that is legal.

None of my 101's or 102's came with escape rings.  But Mickfish posted this, and it worked out well for me!  http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,21044.msg217007.html#msg217007

Escape rings are built in on the Promar 102.

Promar only started putting escape rings in about 2 or 3 years ago. If you bought your traps before then, or found some old stock, youll have to put in your own.

This is correct!

TR-102W = with escape rings
TR-102 = no rings
