Easy secure parking close to launch, overnight camping, low weather exposure, free crab bait at the cleaning station, you dont get pummeled by surf with traps stacked on deck, washdown, bathrooms, paved lot, lots of dining options or stores if you forget something, nobody looks twice if you have propane burners boiling at full steam, nobody looks twice if you're sitting on your tailgate covered in crab butter and cracked shells.

Lots of reasons really, just give the traffic lane some room and things should be kosher.

LIKE IT!!!

There are LOTS of crabs inHMB. You may have to paddle a little. Too xclose to the rocks and you get rock crabs anyways.

It sure does haves alot of things going for it, especially as a destination spot. Free bait is a big plus.
Besides the traffic lane shown above, there is another can a couple miles to the south marking the southern entrance to the reef.
It would be advisable not to set gear in that traffic lane as well.
