I have been lurking around this forum for a while and learning a lot!!  I finally took the plunge last week crabbing out of Bodega Bay on my Prowler 15.  I even met up with a bunch of guys from this forum, I'm the 'Brit dude' that you met on the beach.

Definitely hooked on this sport now.  Btw, does anyone have any recommendations for crabbing/fishing locations near Fort Bragg?

Welcome and congratulations on getting out there and trying the sport.  Shelter Cove is very productive for both crabbing/fishing and is easy to launch from.

Thanks guys!

@laplapu, shelter coves does look good, I will give that a try.  Any suggestions on the best areas to lay down a couple of pots?

@kayakjames, where did you launch from and fish in Noyo?  The beach on the north side looks OK but just wondering if there were any crab in the bay or whether I need to go out a little further.  Not sure I like the idea of going out through the harbour entrance on a kayak, the waves look pretty mean even on a calm day.

Thanks again everyone!
