Other than price and size difference...is there any reason to go for the regular over the mini ?  I'm thinking a more compact design may be a good thing, unless there's an obvious disadvantage.

Also, regular patch kits don't seem to work too well on the tires...what do you when you get a flat ?

If you ever do any beach launch, you'd want the big wheels. The small wheels don't roll on sand/loose gravel very well. It takes less effort to roll with the big wheels. However, if you don't need to go over that type of terrain, and if you're gonna be a long way from the car, I would use the small wheels and store it in my front hatch.
To me, I prefer the big wheels because where I launch is never too far from the car. I can put it back after dropping off the yak at the launch. Rolling the yak to your launch with the big wheels will be a breeze.

The brochure that came with my Wheelies indicates that leaks are best patched by applying a heated knife to the leak, using the "melted plastic" to seal the leak.

Ahhhh...I didn't realize the tires were smaller, I thought it was just the frame.

As far as patching, I know Rich tried a few times win the melting method, but it didn't seem too effective.  Maybe practice makes perfect.  Lol

Thanks for the input !

A soldering iron works perfect for fixing holes. I have used this method several time on the different beach wheels. Its also what wheeleez recommends see the video link below.

When I picked up my wheels at the warehouse the guy told me that most flats occur because the tires are over inflated and most people over inflate.

Thanks, guys.   I see they're out of Benicia.  I may just see about picking up instead of shipping...save a little $$$

If they have two used sets let me know Craig, I used the wheeleez tough tires and they dig into the sand, no bueno.

The Wheeleez mini is better suited for the narrower / lighter sit-in-side kayaks.
