On November 10th 1775 in a tavern in Philly a force we know as US Marines was born. Happy birthday to all Marines past and present.

I'd be happy to give someone a ride to the Tun Tavern. Get it?

I was watching a tv clip on YouTube earlier today, I think it was that extreme home make over show.  They were renewing the house of a Marine who had just come back from Afghanistan and a small marching band was there during the unveiling.

He got pretty emotional and said "I never left the Marine Corps and the Marine Corps never left me".  I think that pretty much sums it up for a lot of us.

Even after all of these years I still catch myself thinking "if it was good enough for Chesty, it's good enough for me".

There are a lot of things I really miss about those days. Structure mostly. New faces from all over the map. NCKA sorta replaces that, minus the structure part (thats why I have a FF I guess). My first job after I got out, I almost got fired for telling a guy to push "until I got tired"  :smt044 Hard to believe it was almost 20 years ago since I stood on those yellow footprints. My A**hole all puckered up like like a raisin, scared to death. Good times

Wow you got me thinking now been 12 years Since the yellow footprints for me, where has the time gone. Too much to list for me everything I miss, from free base housing with a beach view, I didn't know what I had till it was gone, all the way to blowing shit up, miss almost all of it. I still carry the 15 mins prior to being 15 mins prior. As well as many other traits that have stuck with me.

Out for five yrs now. Funny how when you're in, you can't wait to get out. Then when you're out, you miss the days (some!) when you were in...

I was diving near oceanside a few weeks ago...the memories flooded back... seeing all those boots walking around with their war bags and fresh oorah tats! Good times...
