Ron and I hooked up at around 8am at LM on Saturday morning.
2 guys with yaks were out...not sure who they were. It looked like they soaked some traps and retrieved some using a surf board? Anyway, conditions looked ideal with small breakers in front of the river. But there were some serious squalls roughing up the water further out and then some curtains of rain falling from time to time.
Ron and I rigged up and went in, passed the breakers without rolling and soon were on 45 feet of water in the middle of the bay soaking our hoops.
First soaks brought back a few dungies which were undersize. Another hour or two did not bring the harvest we had hoped for, almost all dungies we were bringing up were small.
I then decided to put the hoops closer to the south end of the bay as ominous clouds came in. Then some really strong squalls hit us. Remembering a recent report from ChuckE last week, I started bringing my gear up and tying it to the kayak. Squalls would come and go and the wind would turn south east (well offshore) from time to time. I got a bit nervous and told Ron I was heading back. Ron went back out and gathered his hoops. We made it back safely and surfed our way back to the beach. Oh well I got 2 small but legal dungies and Ron 1 nice on.
It was a good workout.

I saw the swell and chop yesterday and it didn't look to good. I decided to work on the house and build some WAF before the nice weather begins. You guys braved some decent stuff yesterday.   I learned a good lesson last week.
