My kayak's been on the water about 10 times now and it's starting to show a little fading of the colors.  Nothing serious but I can see the change in color brightness on my OK Prowler 13.   Is there a sunscreen or wax that I can use to protect the plastic?  Thanks in advance for any tips!

That stuff isn't cheap.  It is also recommended by Kokatat for use on the latex gaskets on their apparel.  You can buy it in quart and gallon sizes at Camping World.  I have been using it for a couple of years on my toys that have to stay outside in the sun occassionally, and it appears to do the job as advertised.----Jeff

+1 on the 303 Areospace protectant. I used this on my 1 1/2 yr. old ( moss colored ) Hobie Outback ( had a white film - due to intense Redding sun ) prior to GS5. Still looks great.
Makes it much easier to clean blood off your Yak ( my own  :smt003)

Do small sections at a time, if it drips down it will leave streaks ( which have since gone away )
WARNING- it will make your Yak slippery as snail snot.   :smt044
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

yep, true that.
I used it on my tie down straps and they wouldn't stay cinched.

Supposed to work on all plastics & rubber.

Definitely not cheap stuff but it works . . . I guess. No complaints about sunburn yet.

Hobie's have UV protectant built into the plastic from what I recall.  Do other manufactures not do this?  Haven't had any issues on either Hobie or the other yaks I have, but usually keep them in the shade at the very least.

Armour All - I use it generously on the top deck and coat the rubber gasket seals.  Cheap and protects from UV damage. I don't use it for the body because it gets slippery, almost dropped my yak one time while loading.

The higher end PE plastics  have  UV inhibitors compounded into the mix.     Some mfg's cut corners and buy the dry-mix blend which will usually fade out quickly.
All kayaks should be stored out of direct sunlight.     If your only storage space is outdoors,  put a cover over it.    It'll add years to the life, and keep up the resale value for sure.

303 is worth every penny.  I've used it for years on virtually everything (infltable dink, motorcycle, etc.).  You can get bigger containers to save a few bucks. Remember, though, it doesn't work if you leave it in the bottle!
