First post from this newbie. Glad to tap into this wealth of information. I'm trying to outfit my standard Ocean Kayak sit-on-top (a Mars model) for striper fishing. Any recommendations on fly rod holders?
Many thanks.

What I did for when I'm paddling is a 16" piece of 1" pvc pipe with a 12" u cut down the lenght of it that is wide enough for the seat of the reel to fit through (my rod has a fighting butt )

Scotty makes a good one. http://www.scotty.com/fishing-gear-equipment/rod-holders/fly-rod.htm

Or this one by I Fly. http://stores.theifly.com/StoreFront.bok

Personally for storage I would make something before shelling out the cash that I Fly wants.

Thanks for the ideas, guys. Hallsworth, how do you mount the PVC to your yak?
