javascript:void(0); Jonathan and I paddled out of the Santa Cruz harbor, just south of the boardwalk Sat morning at 9:30. After about 12 miles of paddling, we arrived back at the dock at 5 pm, with eight sand dabs to show for our effort and no salmon. We paddled straight out to sea from the dock and little North, found other boats but the fishing was slow for everyone. The deepest we got was 220 feet, about 4+ miles from the harbour. Kept hearing reports of fish being caught in 240 feet of water, but didnt know where that was. Beautiful day though. Marked fish on the fish finder once in a while at all different depths, but only a rock cod and dabs wanted to bite. Good luck tomorrow everyone.

we trolled on and off on the way out and back, and mooched when we got there.  From all the radio chatter, it sounded like all the fish were on the bottom. When we got back to the dock, we ran into Brenden (the kayak fishing guide) who works for fish and game. He was recording what the catch was from arriving fisherman and said that salmon were spread out through the water column.
