Started out at 11, tried for the dinos, not much luck, but marked lots of schoolies, so I swiched to my spinniing rig- 30 lb mono(never again!) baited with pile worm and waited for the striper tap when... pump, set, load and LAUNCH!
Like a polaris missle! Im not one to spin a tall tail (!) but if it werent for the pics yesterday I would have to keep this to myself, it was TWICE as big as yesterdays. 8 feet? 9 feet??? bigger around than a telephone pole. Wow!!!
A true sea monster. So after the launch it snapped my pole in half on the first run, so I eased up the drag and let him pull me around for maybe 5 min, never surfacing but close, then snapped my mono. I tried for a pic of him but only got a shot of  my pole (!) during the ride. Oh yeah, I also got a little stiper. Saterday, they belong to us, OK?

Wow... Ben, you're on fire hooking two big dinos in a row! :blob8:
Too bad you didn't have a video cam to record the incident.

Good luck to you guys on Saturday.  I wish I could join you but I have a loooong honey-do list.

Guitarzan... hopefully with some help you can get a good measurement on one this time around.  I look forward to your report...  I love it when they launch out of the water when they get hooked.  Glad that you got to feel that awesome experience... bummer about your rod though.
